Embraco makes many R134a compressor models for different applications. A light-commercial unit for a café uses a different compressor than a household fridge or a lab cooler. The difference lives in the model number—on Embraco units, it usually starts with EM, FFI, or VCC—and in the cooling capacity (BTUs), voltage, and mounting hardware. Matching the refrigerant alone is like matching "gasoline" when your car needs a specific fuel pump. I say this as someone who made that exact mistake.

A "compressor" is not an interchangeable machine
If you've ever looked up "dewalt air compressor" while trying to fix a refrigerator, you're not the first. They're both "compressors." They both have motors. They are not the same machine.
A DeWalt air compressor pushes air into a tank to power pneumatic tools. An Embraco refrigerator compressor is a sealed pump that moves refrigerant vapor to carry heat out of the box. One creates pressure for machines; the other moves heat for temperature control. They share almost nothing internally, and you can't swap one for the other. If a product listing ever suggests otherwise, skip it. The oil pressure sensor myth

What a Wrong Compressor Actually Costs
